It's been a long time out of festivals for PJ, obviously they're satisfied with the safety issues. In any case I won't be in attendance because I'll be off to a different festival a couple of months prior
I'm mainly pissed because where the BDO is held in Perth we have a stupid curfew because it's in a residential zone. Everyone knows PJ will more than likely close the day out but with a curfew hanging over them it'll be a tighter than normal setlist. Just praying they do some sideshows aswell/instead.
I'm not really a concert-goer, but I went to see Michael Buble a couple of hours ago in my first concert-going experience.
He has set the bar high now for future concerts. Everyone I was with had big grins on their faces walking out of the arena, and were still buoyant when walking through the pouring rain.
His best original song performance was "Haven't Met You Yet" and his best cover for me was "Get Lucky", particularly because that's when he got near where I was located.
But the highlight was right at the end when all the instrumentation went down, the crowd went silent, and it was just him singing under a lone spotlight. It made me realize what a strong voice he has, as his voice echoed throughout the arena.
I thought I might as well post that, because I'm not sure of the next time I'll be going to a concert
So I will be going to Stereosonic in Melbourne on December 5th this year which I'm very excited about Never been to a music concert or festival before so can't wait to experience it for the first time in December. Is anyone else going to Stereosonic (or has gone in the past)?
Yes! I will also be going to Stereosonic this year! I do admit that 2015's lineup isn't as good as 2014's lineup. But I'm still keen to go, despite the fact they've reduced it to one day.
I went for Future Music Festival earlier this year, and I could tell that despite a decent lineup, numbers (and number of acts) were down. I'm also going to 'Listen Out' this year which for me also has a solid lineup.
I've also noticed that a heap of Triple J festivals (i.e. Falls Festival, Listen Out, Splendour In The Grass, and Groovin' The Moo) are becoming bigger and bigger each year (lineup acts, attendance and popularity in general), which I guess makes up for the lack of Soundwave and now Future Music Festival.
Awesome! Are you going to Melbourne for it? The Splendour In The Grass lineup for 2015 looked pretty awesome so I'm a little disappointed I didn't think to go to that, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for the lineup and tickets early next year
Good on you Zacco you must be keen! I personally prefer concerts to festivals but Stereosonic would be awesome and is one I want to go too one day too!
This year has been a great one for me concert-wise and a year where I really got/am getting around to see some of my favourites. Started off with Tinashe, and have since seen Jessie J and Demi Lovato, and have Toni Braxton next month which is the one I am happiest about, especially with my un-normal obsession with her and her family!
I'm also going to Melbourne for Soulfest in October, which will be my first proper festival (I choose not to count Good Life ). Very happy it's my first with the line-up including some of my favourites (Mary J, Jhene Aiko, Lauryn Hill, Miguel etc.).

Also, did anyone hear about Stereosonic 2016? It is cancelled for this year, but might return in 2017. R.I.P. Future Music, Stereosonic, Big Day Out, and Soundwave...
Going to see Karnivool on the 27th and thinking about Groovin' The Moo now Of Monsters & Men have been added to the Bunbury show in WA. Looking forward to seeing Disturbed in November and then 3 days later The Vengaboys plus others @ Metro City in Perth, Yay
Hoping the rumours are true that the mighty Pearl Jam will be touring this coming summer
Splendour lineup looks pretty fab, so might end up going to that this year. Pretty sad about Stereosonic indeed, very glad I went last year because who knows it might never return
While in Sydney I saw Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and she was absolutely amazing. Only was on stage for an hour but it was still worth it
I'm going to see Twenty One Pilots with my sister in Melbourne in two week's time, which I'm hoping is good. I also might go to see Vengaboys later in the year
I didn't but had a few mates that did. They said it was lit!
A lot of mainstream artists announcing upcoming tours too! Bieber, Adele, Little Mix and Jess Mauboy come to mind. Keith Urban is also currently touring too. Last edited:
With the current situation, it looks like there's going to be a lot of live streaming festivals popping up over the next few months.
I've seen that Isol-Aid is currently running for the third straight weekend on Instagram with acts like John Butler, Tim Rogers and Bad//Dreems taking part this time. https://www.isolaidfestival.com/
I watched some of the Delivered Live show yesterday and will be tuning in again today to see the parts I missed. Ali Barter and Alex Lahey were both great and the show also featured Bob Evans and Henry Wagons. It's being replayed on YouTube from 2pm AEST if you're interested. https://deliveredlive.com.au
There's bound to be a few more coming soon, so I thought this could be a good place to share any events that are coming up.
