Australia finally has it's seventh No.1 for 2017, and the first new chart-topping track since the end of May, as Pink's new single "What About Us" becomes the 116th song to debut at the top of the Australian Singles Chart.

"What About Us" becomes the 1064th No.1 Single in Australia (Jan 1940 to 2017), the 1004th since the charts went weekly in January 1949 and the 499th for ARIA (1983 to 2017), plus the 70th on the RCA Record label since they claimed their first in Feb 1954 ("You, You, You" by The Ames Brothers) and the first in over a year, the last was also a Pink track, "Just Like Fire" (1 wk, 2nd May, 2016). Overall this is the ninth No.1 for Pink and her fifth for this decade, giving her the equal second most No.1 song this decade alongside Justin Bieber, whilst Rihanna has scored seven during this current decade. Now Pink moves up to equal fourteenth on the list for 'Most Weeks at No.1: 2010's; Singles' alongside Guy Sebastian and Meghan Trainor who have also tallied eight weeks at the top during this decade.

On a larger frame of chart-facts, Pink has now moved to equal twelfth on the overall list for 'Most No.1 Singles in Australia' alongside the nine #1's by The Ink Spots and Delta Goodrem; and Pink has now amassed eighteen weeks at No.1 from her nine chart-toppers, moving her to equal 37th on the list of 'Most Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles 1940 to 2017' alongside The Rolling Stones (6 #1's), Johnnie Ray (4 #1's) and Judy Garland (2 #1's). And "What About Us" becomes the 15th song to feature the word 'What' in its title, in fact Pink's fourth No.1 was "So What" (4 wks from 22nd Sept, 2008), and the tenth with the word 'About', with two previous versions of the same song hitting No.1 with both of those words included in the title, "What About Me" by Moving Pictures (6 wks from 22nd March, 1982) and the cover by Shannon Noll (4 wks from 2nd Feb, 2004), and finally the seventh for an 'us' at the top. And finally this new No.1 becomes the 684th by an American act to hit the top in Australia and only the second for this year after DJ Khaled did so for two weeks back in early May.

Challenging for the No.1 spot this week is the current Macklemore single "Glorious", which this week climbs one spot to a new peak of No.2, plus the song is now ▲Platinum in sales too. After thirteen weeks at No.1 the Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber teaming on "Despacito" drops two places to No.3, still claiming the second longest running No.1 for this century, and Justin's tally of weeks at No.1 could climb again next week as he released a new single on Saturday entitled "Friends", so that could leap into the No.1 spot next week.

After three weeks at No.2 the Imagine Dragons' highest charted single "Thunder" drops two places to land at No.4 this week, whilst dropping one spot to No.5 is the track "Feels" for Calvin Harris, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and Big Sean. Kesha sees her new album debut within the Top 3 this week, and the set's first release in "Praying" is up two places to a new peak of No.6. Liam Payne falls two spots to No.7 with "Strip That Down" and sliding back one spot to No.8 is French Montana and his first Top 10 entry "Unforgettable". DJ Khaled with Rihanna and Bryson Tiller drop three places to No.9 with their "Wild Thoughts" and down one after peaking at No.9 last week is Sam Hunt and his first chart entry "Body Like a Back Road" to No.10.

* Louis Tomlinson with Bebe Rexha and the producers Digital Farm Animals climb two places to land at No.11 with his now highest charted single "Back to You".
* The new UK and Irish No.1 single this week is the Dua Lipa track "New Rules", which here is up five places to a new peak of No.15.
* After a couple of weeks of sitting at No.21 the Jessica Mauboy track "Fallin'" is back up three places to No.18.
* Demi Lovato could score her second solo and fifth Top 20 single next week with "Sorry, Not Sorry", which this week climbs three spots to land at a new peak of No.21. (Her solo highest charted single was "Cool for the Summer" (HP-20, August 2015)).
* Miley Cyrus has just announced her new album title in "Younger Now" which is due at the end of September, and her new albums' first track in "Malibu" is on hold at No.26 and now 2x▲Platinum.
* A month ago the Childish Gambino track "Redbone" peaked at No.28, now this week it has climbed back up three places to a new chart height of No.27, plus the song is also 2x▲Platinum in sales.
* Also on hold this week at No.29 is Martin Garrix and Troye Sivan with "There For You", which could rise next week due to the remix EP being issued on Friday, plus the song is now ▲Platinum in sales.
* If "Despacito" is losing ground, then the new Spanglish track "Mi Gente" by J. Balvin and Willy William is climbing fast, this week it's up seven places to a new peak of No.31.
* After debuting at No.50 three weeks ago, the Lauv track "I Like Me Better" climbed five spots last week to No.45, and now this week its up another five places to a new peak of No.40.
* Axwell/\Ingrosso climbed into the Top 50 last week with "More Than You Know", which this week continues its upward climb by moving four spots to a new chart height of No.44.
* Two further songs that entered three weeks ago climb; "Came Here for Love" by Sigala and Ella Eyre leaps twenty-eight spots to land at No.53, whilst the Morgan Evans track "Kiss Somebody" is this week up five spots to a new peak of No.54.
* Khalid still has four songs within the Top 100 this week (his Calvin track leaves and he debuts as a guest on a new one), and last weeks entry of "Young, Dumb & Broke" is up a couple of spots to a new peak of No.55.
* The new Snakehips track with Anne-Marie "Either Way" fell from 64 to 84 last week, and now it rebounds back up nine spots to land at No.75 this week.
* Macklemore also rebounds with his "Marmalade" track, back up ten places to a new peak of No.80.

* The only song leaving the Top 10 this week is the second tenner for Niall Horan in "Slow Hands" (HP-2x2, WI10-12), which is down two places to No.12, with Louis one place higher at No.11.
* Maggie Linemann peaked at No.12 last week and now in her twelfth week on the chart her track "Pretty Girl" drops down four to No.16, but picks up a ▲Platinum certification.
* Justin Bieber leaves the Top 20 on two tracks this week, with his David Guetta appearance on "2U" dropping down five places to No.22, and his guest spot on the DJ Khaled former No.1 "I'm the One" is down four to No.23, and newly crowned 3x▲Platinum in sales.
* Selena Gomez and her "Bad Liar" track drop five places to No.30, whilst her "Fetish" song descends seven places to No.39 and her appearance on the Kygo hit "It Ain't Me" dropping eleven chart-rungs to No.62.
* The three Camila Cabello entries this week also fall, with her guest spot on the Major Lazer track "Know No Better" down six to No.43, her first solo entry "Crying in the Club" is down ten to No.50 and her debut from last week "OMG" is down fifteen places to No.92.
* The latest Charli XCX song "Boys" falls down eleven spots to No.71.
* Kaleo score a ▲Platinum sales cert this week for "Way Down We Go", down five to No.78.
* The only Gold (●) song for the week goes to MØ and her song "Nights with You" (HP-65), which is down ten places to No.81.
* Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" is down one to No.87 and spending its 139th week in the Top 100 to still be the longest charted single in ARIA/Australian chart history.
* This could be the last week for the song "Human" by Rag'N'Bone Man after its recent rise due to his national tour, as this week the 42 week running song falls thirteen places to No.93.
* Katy Perry and her "Swish Swish" drops twenty-two places to No.97.

* #1 - What About us by Pink https://youtu.be/ClU3fctbGls

* #33 - Without You by Avicii feat. Sandro Cavazza is the first song released from the new six track EP by Avicii entitled Avici(01), and this is the first of three EP's he planning on releasing, all three combining into one album at the end of the releases. * #61 - P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) by John Gibbons is an Irish born producer, remixer and DJ who is now based in London, and who previously remixed a version of the 1992 Charlies & Eddie song "Would I Lie to You" and now he has remixed the Michael Jackson song "P.Y.T." from his 1982/3/4 mega album "Thriller"; here in Australia the original hit No.40 at the end of April in 1984 and was the follow-up to the albums title track. * #85 - Little of Your Love by HAIM is the second single lifted for the trio's second album "Something to Tell You" (TW-62), and follows on from "Want You Back" (HP-54) and this becomes the girls' seventh Top 100 entry overall in Australia.

* #86 - Don't Tell Me by Ruel is a fourteen year-old native Australian artist who is being produced by M-Phazes, with this track his debut single, and he'll be doing his first tour as guest artist on the September 2017 Angus & Julia Stone tour around the country.

* #95 - Feel it Still by Portugal. The Man is the first chart entry for the US band from Oregan, and this track (if you listen carefully in the chorus) has an interpolation of the Marvelettes 1959 single "Please Mr. Postman" (didn't chart here until The Carpenters cover in 1975 went to No.1), and this track is taken from their most recent album "Woodstock".

* #100 - Silence by Marshmello x Khalid is the first entry here for the DJ and record producer who wears a customised helmet for public appearances (looks like a Marshmello with eyes), and he has remixed tracks in the past couple of years for Skrillex, Justin Bieber, Zedd, Calvin Harris, Ariana Grande, Avicii, Adele, Anne-Marie, Galantis and DJ Snake, whilst this is the fourth Top 100 entry this week for guest rapper Khalid.

Twenty years ago this month local singer/songwriter Paul Kelly scored his highest charted album, now his 23rd studio set "Life is Fine" becomes his first No.1 album in Australia, debuting at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart this week.

"Life is Fine" becomes the 805th No.1 for Australia (Jan 1965 to 2017) and the 656th for ARIA (1983 to 2017), plus the 449th to debut in the No.1 spot and the very first on Paul's own record label 'Gawd Aggie'. As I mentioned in the first paragraph, back in June, July and August of 1997 his collection "Songs from the South: Greatest Hits" debuted at No.2 for four broken weeks, which at the time and up until now had been his highest charted album, with the expanded set "GH Vol.1&2" back into the Top 100 at No.59 this week.

This is the ninth album to hit No.1 with a 'Life' in its title, with the eighth one being only four weeks ago for Lana Del Rey and "Lust for Life", but its the first album with a 'Fine' attached to its title to hit the top here. Paul Kelly becomes the sixth Australian act to hit the top this year (Kasey Chambers, Dune Rats, Busby Marou, The Waifs and Bliss N' Eso were the last back in early May), whilst overall this is the 216th Australian performed No.1 album (solo, duo or group). Paul Kelly becomes the 109th Australian act to hit the top and the 28th Solo Aussie Male performer to do so, plus the album is the 223rd No.1 performed by a Solo Male Artist (local or overseas).

Ed Sheeran's "÷ (Divide)" is back down one spot to No.2 after 19 weeks at No.1 here, and then the second of three Top 5 debuts this week in the third album for US singer Kesha entitled "Rainbow", which comes in at No.3, becoming her second Top 5/10 album and also now her highest charted, beating the No.4 peak of her debut set "Animal" (Jan 2010), with the albums lead single "Praying" sitting at No.6 this week. Whilst the final Top 5/10 debut this week is the self-titled second album for Melbourne singer/songwriter Jen Cloher (also the partner of Courtney Barnett), which comes straight in at No.5 becoming her first chart entry and Top 10 album in the same week.

Two soundtracks sit within the Top 10 this week, with the "Moana" set on hold at No.4, and the just issued DVD and BR for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2" sees its compilation of 70's & 80's songs rebound twelve places to land at No.8 for an eighth week within the Top 10. Dropping back three places to No.6 is the Kendrick Lamar album "DAMN.", which just went back to No.1 in the USA, whilst the second Lorde album "Melodrama" which leapt back up to No.2 last week is down this week five spots to No.7, with the Imagine Dragons "Evolve" album dropping down three to No.9, there is a second returning album to the Top 10 in Ed Sheeran with his second set "x" up one to No.10 for its 104th week inside the Top 10.

* The classic 1971 No.1 US album (at this time of year too) "Tapestry" by Carole King leaps up eighty places to No.11, its highest Top 50 placing since it made it to No.45 in Februaryt of 2013.
* Ed Sheeran's first album "+" is also back up, seven places to No.18, so his three albums are all within the Top 20 again this week.
* A couple of more soundtracks which climb are for "Trolls" (26 to 20) and "Sing" (73 to 66).
* With four songs again within the Top 100 singles chart, the Khalid album "American Teen" is up one spot this week to a new peak of No.21.
* The Weeknd and his "Starboy" set jump back up eight spots to No.30.
* Bruno Mars' "24k Magic" might have only climbed a single place, but it is now ▲Platinum in sales.
* Keith Urban's "Ripcord" jumps back up fifteen places to No.52 this week.
* There's a twenty-three places rise for "The Very Very Best of" for Crowded House to No.54, whilst the Guns N' Roses "GH" set is back up twenty-six spots to No.61, the Fleetwood Mac "GH" album jumps twenty-one to No.75 and their "Very Best of" returns at No.86 (thanks to the Stevie Nicks tour announcement with Chrissie Hynde, and their interview on 60 Minutes last weekend), and "The Essential" for Michael Jackson is back up fourteen spots to No.81
* After Paul Kelly's re-entry at No.59 and the Mac's Very Best of, the only other returning album is at No.67 for Adam Harvey & Beccy Cole with "The Great Country Songbook Vol.II".

* The first of five albums leaving the Top 10 this week is the soundtrack for "Baby Driver" (HP-5x2, WI10-4), down seven to No.12, followed by the Linkin Park latest album "One More Light" (HP-3, WI10-4a) dropping fourteen places to No.23, whilst Lana Del Rey's "Lust for Life" (HP-1x1, WI10-3) subsides seventeen spots to No.25. Arcade Fire see their album "Everything Now" (HP-2, WI10-2) tumble twenty-six places to No.36 and finally the big tumble of the week is for local act Boo Seeka and their debut last week of "Never Too Soon" (HP-8, WI10-1), which plummets sixty-five places to land at No.73 this week.
* After a rebound last week after the physical release, this week the Tyler, The Creator album "Flower Boy" is back down ten places to No.22.
* Now that his tour here is over, the Rag'N'Bone Man debut album "Human" is down nine spots to No.24.
* Calvin Harris falls eight places to No.27 with his "Funk Wav Bounces Vol.1" album.
* The remaining three Linkin Park albums charting at the moment all drop too this week, with "Hyrbid Theory" down seventeen places to No.33, "Meteora" is down twenty-five to No.57 and finally "Minutes to Midnight" plummets thirty-four spots to land at No.99.
* Dan Sultan falls twenty-two places this week to No.35 with his "Killer" set.
* With the Carole King album surging, the covers album "Beautiful-A Tribute to Carole King" is down nine spots to No.40.
* The Chainsmokers moved up the charts last week with "Memories... Do Not Open", which this week is back down thirteen places No.41.
* Alice Cooper falls fifteen places to No.42 with his "Paranormal" album.
* The Voice 2017 winner Judah Kelly is down twenty-six spots to No.44 with his "Count on Me" set.
* It's a ten place fall for the Meg Mac album "Low Blows" to No.46 this week.
* After her promo tour, the Zara Larsson album "So Good" falls back down thirteen to No.50.
* London Grammar are down twelve places to No.58 with "Truth is a Beautiful Thing".
* A new HAIM single enters the chart this week, but their album "Something to Tell You" drops twenty places to land at No.62.
* Passenger plummets thirty-nine places to No.68 with "The Boy Who Cried Wolf".
* Two of last weeks three Glen Campbell albums survived for a second week, but both drop down, with his "20 Golden Greats" down nineteen to No.71 and the "Greatest Hits" set down thirty-nine places to No.80.
* Halsey has a twenty place drop for "hopeless kingdom fountain" to No.74 this week.
* Whilst there is a twenty-one place fall for Pete Murray and his "Camacho" album to No.84.
* Jay-Z tumbles thirty-two places to No.91 with his latest album "4:44".
* Two kids albums that fall in the lower fifty are for "50 Best Songs" for Play School (76 to 96) and the soundtrack for "Beauty and the Beast" (56 to 100).
* Two albums leave the Top 100 from last weeks Top 50 in Travis Collins & Amber Lawrence with "Our Backyard" (#40) and "Deaweight" for Wage War (#45).
