Last edited: 06/09/2006 10:29 |
| ****** mega geil!!!!!!!!!! |
| **** Kein berauschendes Debut. Ab Fahrenheit gings aufwärts....nach Blaze Of Glory wieder abwärts....Keep The Faith war der Anfang vom Ende... |
| ****** very good album |
| ****** Perfekt!

4@TheTop: Runaway / Shot Through The Heart / Love Lies / Come Back |
| ****** Starkes Debut-Album von 1984.

CDN: -
USA: #43, 1984; #77, 1986 Last edited: 01/02/2020 16:42 |
| ****** So fing alles an! Besser geht's nicht! |
| ****** Sehr guter Einstand der Truppe. |
| ****** Die erste Platte der Band. Grandios |
| ****** RUNAWAY!!!!!
ALBUM = TOPPPPPPPP!!!!!
WARUM NICHT WELTWEIT AUF DER SPITZE DER CHARTS?????? |
| ***** super |
| **** Für den Anfang nicht übel. |
| ***** Gutes Erstlingswerk! |
| **** For a debut it really is a great rocking effort from the boys from New Jersey and a far cry from their recent output in the last decade or so.
Back when melodies and lyrics were simple and fun and nobody judged you for liking a Bon Jovi record.

It all starts with the song that Jon flogged to every DJ he could find 'Runaway' which to this day still holds it's ground well in their discography.

Followed up by 'Roulette', a mis-jointy clone of Runaway. A song about gambling on love, not what your expecting :p

The best pre-Slippery track imo is next, the delightfully dorky and fun 'She Don't Know Me', just for laughs check out the video on YouTube or something :p

After the dorkfest you get straight into what I think is Bon Jovi's first attempt at a rock anthem 'Shot Through The Heart' (or which I like to call 'You Give Love A Bad Name Too') and in all honesty it's a hundred times better than YGLABN.

You then roll into yet another anthem into 'Love Lies' and then the impressive 'Breakout'.

At this point the album faulters significantly with the scrappy and mis-jointed 'Burning For Love', I do like it but it just sounds like 2 or 3 songs in one and is the worst offering on this album because of this.

The final two tracks in 'Come Back' & 'Get Ready' are really both disposable pop hits that any rock/glam band of that era were dishing out, so no big gain there.

For the total Bon Jovi experience this debut can't be overlooked and even though it's ancient early 80's material it's well worth seeking out :)

35/54

|
