Haha this flopped! Fantastic, this autotuned talentless skank is already on the way out. GOOD RIDDANCE. I have heard a few songs of this piece of trash, my ears were bleeding. Why the hell is this shit popular?

I understand that Ke$ha pretty much stands for everything that is wrong with popular music at the moment. She uses heavy autotune, there is nothing profound about her songwriting (boys, partying etc), overuses profanity and sings about how shamelessly promiscuous she is (I mean Dirty Love, gross). But for some reason I enjoy a lot of the music that she puts out. In saying that, Warrior is my least favourite collection of tracks from her, with nothing outstanding besides the lead single 'Die Young' which really wasn't that outstanding anyway. I just really liked it. The majority of the album just breezes past you without making much of an impact. So it's a 4.

My favourite tracks: Die Young, Wherever You Are and Wonderland. Also Love Into The Light (if you minus the fact that the best part of it is taken from Phil Collins' 'In The Air Tonight').

Massive flop though hahaha. Too bad.

Better than: Jennifer Lopez - J.Lo
Not as good as: Justin Timberlake - Future Sex/Love Sounds

I used to hate Ke$ha an awful lot back in 2010, which is odd considering it was a year I tried way, way too hard to like pop music and gave a lot of unspeakably average crap good reviews in order to look unbiased. But anyways I obviously bought the idea that she was some knob endorsing vapid behaviour that was cultural currency at the time and was too blind to look beyond that and realise that her songs weren't meant to be taken seriously and that things such as HUMOUR and IRONY can exist in the pop mainstream (serouiously, this website is full of way too many eye-rolling reviews balking at anything with the slightest hint of audacity, its like the Flanders' household of the music world).

With this album being available at my local library and having a new understanding of Ke$ha's unique personality and finding 'Die Young' pleasant if a bit overly-lauded by some, I decided to issue it out and found from the first listen that this is actually really enjoyable! It's tracks show a strong step forward from her early hits to something which maintains the sheen of pure trahy fun while expanding on the musical range (as the big talking point of the rock elements are here, especially the unusual collaborations) and also -shock horror!- the underlying emotions in her music which are actually quite sincere and sweet in parts. Standouts so far are 'Warrior' 'Thinking Of You' 'Dirty Love' and 'Love Into The Light' the latter being intriguing for having genuinely unproccessed vocals that suggest a future for her to continue her career beyond the novelty gimmicks which made her name. If you were one of many who had a knee-jerk reaction to what she was 'about' back at the start of this decade (and I don't really blame you too much) than this album is a good means of a re-evaluation.
