YOU LIGHT THE SPARK IN MY BONFIRE HEART!

Haha, just kidding :P . I don't think it's a copy or anything but it obviously seems inspired by it. I'm not a big fan of "Bonfire Heart" or this new folk pop trend that has recently popped up but I quite like this and am impressed.

The best thing about this is that it differs a lot from their usual selfs. It's not their usual annoying upbeat stuff that has been getting more and more tiring as time goes by. This is quite nice while still being reasonably upbeat so it doesn't feel depressing or anything but differs from most of their output. I quite like the verses but the chorus falls short and stops me from enjoying it more. I also think the idea behind the music video is quite clever.

It's no "One Thing" or "What Makes You Beautiful" but it's their best since "More Than This" and is close to overtaking that as my third favourite of theirs. A big improvement on their previous singles especially "Best Song Ever".

I really like this! Great ballad with good melodies, vocals and production. The harmonies makes the chorus a real highlight of their discography. The best part though is that it doesn't sound like something they've done before.

wie The Wanted mit "We Own The Night" machen auch One Direction mit "Story Ofd My Life" ein wenig Fun. Imitat :P
Stört nicht weiter...kann aber auch langweilig werden!
Besser als "Best Song Ever"

edit: gefällt mir irgendwie immer besser...5*-

edit2: und erneut hinauf! Möglicherweise ihr allerbeste Song to date!!! Und das heisst wirklich was!

This might be up there with their best tracks (only 3-4), and definitely much better than their recent efforts. I would agree with antonnalan's last sentence.

But wait a minute, and they following James Blunt unto the Indie bandwagon? ;) :P
******
It really did begin to sound like a James Blunt song to me but I like it. It reminds me of Little Things though except with a little bit more going on in the background.

This is fantastic actually. Really good surprise and I really really like the video clip.

Reminds me of More Than This but sped up a little, It's pretty good.

Really very nice, I quite like it.

So after being recommended this song from the same dudes that knock everything they do, it's not really that impressive of musical change, but it's an enjoyable Mumford-esque folk-pop tune that actually trumps most of Babel anyway.
****
Pretty nice track. 3.75

Actually quite like this as it's easy on the ear and quite mature from them. 29 weeks in the UK top 100. 9th UK top 10. Their fourth Irish#1. UK#2 and Ireland#1. US#6. 400,000 copies sold in the UK.

This is...actually really good. Pop song a la James Blunt, but less irritating IMO. The video is also nicely done
****
Finally a song that isn't a rehash of their biggest hit. Quite a mature sound for them, but it works very well.
**
So disappointing, so boring. I'm all for something other than their usual uptempo fare, but this isn't up to scratch.
**
Meh, it's okay for them I guess.
***
3 stars, very surprising for someone who lacks talent or musical identity like this shitty excuse for a boy-band :)
******
the Music Video is just wow! It Shows that doesn't have be naked Girls around, the Family is much more importend!!! *.*
***
It seems more mature, but I'm not really convinced. Nice enough.
***
Average track.

Probably their best so far, but it's pretty bad.

It's quite ironic that the whole pastiche of 'authenticity' actually really backfires its intentions. I mean, I can believe One Direction as those crazy kids who have way too much energy, but the whole guise of pretending to sound deep? Not buying it for a second.

Although I do find it interesting how One Direction's career trajectory is handled so carefully. "Take Me Home" was certainly a step down from "Up All Night"'s success, failing to net a convincingly received single, and dropping out of the charts at about the same time as its predecessor. So obviously they had to try something fresh...for them. And what better to cash in on then those Mumford/Lumineers tunes that are selling like hotcakes?!

Although cashing in isn't a fair term I think. The connotations of that are half-baking and outright laziness, and I don't think that's fair on this as it does a good job of replicating its predecessors, with the right hooks in places, and it strays away from the misfired lyrical content that is synonymous with the ol' 1D. In general I'm just impressed with how naturally they adapt to their gradually aging fanbase. Where to next?
****
One of their better songs but 'Kiss You' remains my favourite for now. A good change of sound. 3.7*

This is vastly different for a 1D track but I wouldn't like them to continue down this path either.

Solid track.
*****
Not bad at all, my favourite from them.
