Hzi Member	***** Kurzer Abriss zur Geschichte dieses Erfolgsalbums: Die 1. Version erschien 1994 im Zuge von Real McCoy's ersten Eurodance-Hits als "Space Invaders" (1998 mit Re-Release unter dem Titel "Love & Devotion"). Nach dem überraschenden Durchbruch des Projekts in den USA wurde das Album dem dortigen Markt angepasst als "Another Night" neu veröffentlicht, wofür einige Songs (der Marke Durchschnitts-Techno) weggelassen und einige neue mit "R'n'B-Touch" hinzugefügt wurden. Aufgefallen ist mir auch, dass von "Love & Devotion" nicht die bekannte Version (der "Airplay Mix") enthalten ist, sondern eine mit anderem Arrangement (Ace Of Base-Beat, weniger synthielastige Instrumentalhook). Ich dachte erst, diese sei speziell für den US-Markt (im Stile der dort ebenfalls erfolgreichen AoB) produziert worden, dabei ist es dieselbe Version wie auf "Space Invaders", die also für den Single-Release geremixt wurde (war ja keine Seltenheit in der Eurodance-Szene..) Für den Rest der Welt wurde "Another Night" mit dem Zusatz "U.S. Album" neu aufgelegt, mit identischer Tracklist und zuzüglich 3 eher überflüssiger Remixe/Instrumentals am Ende (allerdings ist der "Development Corporation Mix", auch bekannt als "UK Airplay Mix", von "Love & Devotion" nicht übel..) Zudem wurde von "L & D" die 1. Albumversion durch den "Club Mix" ersetzt (der auf dem "Airplay Mix" basiert). Unter allen Releases ziehe ich "Another Night (U.S. Album)" vor, weil mir die für die USA produzierten Midtempo-Nummern zusagen, und wegen des "Club Mix" von "Love & Devotion", der mir etwas besser gefällt als die Ur-Version. Die späteren Singles des 2. Albums "One More Time" gingen dann mehr in eine "Happy Eurodance"-Richtung, was nix für mich ist - und viel Erfolg hatten sie damit ja auch nicht mehr ...
